You probably know that the fashion industry is one of the most competitive and saturated markets in the world.
There are thousands of ecommerce brands that sell clothes online, and many of them struggle to survive.
But what if I told you that there is a way to create a clothing brand that sells products that last, fit well, and look good?
Products that your customers love so much that they can’t wait to buy MORE and that are so unique and original that they make you stand out from the crowd.
And that you can do all this by breaking the rules of the traditional fashion industry…
All you need to do is to do things DIFFERENTLY.
That’s exactly what this clothing brand did and made 25 Million in a SINGLE year.
Asphalte a French clothing brand, achieved that in 2020.
They made €25 million in revenue in one year, with over 300,000 customers in France and Europe.
And today, I’m going to share with you their story, and how you can learn from them and apply their secret strategy to your own ecommerce business.
Asphalte was founded in 2016 with a simple idea: to make clothes that last, fit well, and look good. But instead of following the traditional fashion industry model, they decided to do things differently.
They decided to involve their customers in every step of the design process.
They didn’t just make clothes and hope that people would buy them.
They asked their customers what they wanted, what they liked, and what they needed. They let them choose the fabrics, colors, and styles. They let them give feedback on the prototypes. They let them vote on the final products.
They created a pre-order system, where they only produced the clothes that their customers wanted.
This way, they reduced waste, lowered their prices, and increased their margins. They also created a loyal fan base that supported their brand and spread the word.
They didn’t just sell clothes.
THEY SOLD STORIES…
Stories that resonated with their audience and made them feel part of something bigger. Stories that made them laugh, smile, and trust.
STORIES THAT MADE THEM BUY.
They used humor, storytelling, and transparency to connect with their customers and create a unique brand identity and voice.
They used social media and email marketing to showcase their products, share behind the scenes content, and engage with their community.
They used tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Optimizely to track their visitors’ behavior, identify pain points, and improve their user experience and conversion rate.
They focused on QUALITY over QUANTITY.
They only used the best materials and craftsmanship and offered a lifetime warranty on their products.
They didn’t chase trends or follow fads. They created timeless classics that never go out of style.
They did all this with a small team of four people in 2016.
Today, they have a company of 40 people, with a wide range of products, from jackets and jeans to shoes, accessories, and even underwear.
They did all this in a competitive and saturated market, where many ecommerce brands STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE.
They did all this in a year that was marked by a global pandemic, where many businesses faced challenges and failed.
They did all this by using a secret strategy that you can learn from and apply to your own ecommerce business.
And now, you might be wondering: what is this secret strategy?
Well, it’s not really a secret.
It’s actually a very simple and powerful concept that you can use to create products that your customers love, reduce waste, lower your prices, and increase your margins.
It’s called customer co-creation.
Customer co-creation is the process of involving your customers in the creation of your products. It’s a way of collaborating with your customers, listening to their needs and preferences, and letting them participate in the design and development of your products.
Customer co-creation has many benefits for your ecommerce business.
Ask your customers what they want, what they like, and what they need, using surveys.
Let your customers choose the fabrics, colors, and styles, using online platforms.
Let your customers give feedback on the prototypes, using social media and email.
Let your customers vote on the final products, using polls and contests.
Create a pre-order system, where you only produce the products that your customers want, using ecommerce platforms.
Now you know the secret strategy that Asphalte used to make €25 million in one year by involving their customers in the design process.
And you know how you can use it too, to grow your ecommerce brand and achieve ecommerce success.
But knowing is not enough. You have to take ACTION.
You have to apply what you learned, and start creating products that your customers love, reduce waste, lower your prices, and increase your margins.
You have to follow your passion, work hard, and never give up. You have to OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES, LEARN FROM THE FAILURES, and celebrate the successes.
You have to be different, be bold, and be YOURSELF.
You have to be an entrepreneur.
As Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, once said:
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great work is to LOVE what you do.
If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
