From Getting Cut From the HS Basketball team to working in the NBA

Good Morning,

This is the New Money Talks Newsletter, the newsletter packed with entrepreneurs’ personal stories, real estate investing, financial tips, and more! All in three sections!

It’s almost as packed as Rita’s on the First Day of Spring… but enough of that, and let's get into the email.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel :)

Who is John Hartofilis?

  • He is currently a Production Assistant for the NBA.

  • Founder & CEO of Gen Z Hoops.

  • Started out by messaging everyone from the G league to even some baseball players to start Gen Z Hoops.

How does John Hartofilis Make Money?

  • First, he went back to his local high school and coached basketball.

  • He started out Freshman assistant coach and worked his way up to the Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach.

  • He then leveraged that experience to work in the NBA.

  • He is now a Production Assistant for the NBA and currently hosts the Gen Z Hoops Podcast.

What do you Need to Know from Our Interview with John?

The Secret Sauce…

If you planning to start a podcast, make it a goal to get past nine episodes.

90% of podcasts don’t make it past the ninth episode, so you be in that 10% and be unstoppable.

On another note, do you remember trying to apply for an internship or entry-level job, but it requires experience?

If so, we live in the best time to create your own experiences to leverage.

That is what John did; he leveraged both his coaching career at his local high school and his podcast, Gen Z Hoops, to be able to work for the NBA.

Now he can do what he loves and expand his network!

Have a great day, and see you next week :)
