Imagine if you could do it while still in HIGH SCHOOL.
Imagine if you could make MILLIONS of dollars from selling something as simple as socks.
Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well, it’s not.
It’s actually a true story of how a 17 year old did exactly that.
A story of how he turned his passion for socks into a successful ecommerce brand.
A story of how he overcame doubts, challenges, and competition.
A story of how he used a clever marketing strategy to stand out and grow his business.
A story that will inspire you, motivate you, and teach you.
Do you want to hear it?
Then keep reading.
The teenager I’m talking about is Brennan Agranoff, the founder and CEO of HoopSwagg.
HoopSwagg is an ecommerce store that sells custom-designed socks and other apparel. But it wasn’t always a smooth ride for Brennan and his company.
Brennan’s journey began in 2013 when he was JUST ONLY 13 years old.
He was playing basketball with his friends, and he noticed that everyone was wearing plain white socks.
He thought that was boring, and he wondered if there was a way to make socks more fun and colorful. He searched online for cool socks, but he couldn’t find anything that matched his taste or style.
He decided to create his own socks.
He bought a pair of white socks and some fabric markers, and he started drawing designs on them.
He showed them to his friends, and they loved them. They asked him to make some for them too.
He realized that there was a demand for custom socks, and he saw an opportunity to turn his hobby into a business…
He started by selling his socks to his classmates and teammates.
He made $2,000 in his first year.
He then invested in a heat press machine and a sublimation printer, which allowed him to print his designs on blank socks.
He also created a website using Shopify, and he launched HoopSwagg online…
He made $10,000 in his second year.
He then expanded his product line to include more than just socks.
He added shirts, hoodies, hats, phone cases, and more.
He also hired his family members and friends to help him with the production and fulfillment. He made $200,000 in his third year.
He then focused on growing his brand awareness and customer base.
He used social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat to showcase his products and connect with his audience.
He also partnered with influencers such as athletes, celebrities, and YouTubers who wore and promoted his products.
He made $1 MILLION in his FOURTH year… Just imagine that… Teenager who has already made his first million.
He then leveraged his customer feedback and data to improve his products and services.
He used tools such as Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, and Klaviyo to track his sales, traffic, conversions, retention, and loyalty.
He also used tools such as SurveyMonkey, Typeform, and Yotpo to collect customer reviews, ratings, testimonials, and referrals.
He made $5 million in his fifth year.
Today, HoopSwagg has over 500 designs and over 100 products. It has over 200,000 customers from over 50 countries.
It makes over $13 million in annual revenue. And Brennan is still only 21 years old.
That’s an amazing achievement for someone so young, don’t you think?
Brennan is a great example of how you can turn your passion into a profitable ecommerce business, no matter your age or background.
As he said in one of his interviews,
“If you have a dream, go for it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. You have the power to make it happen.”
